28th November, 2018 to 20th January, 2019
Artist’s reception, Sunday 9th December, 5pm – 7pm
We are delighted to be displaying works by Suffolk born Botanical Artist Guy William Eves. Guy’s plant and flower subjects are all taken from living specimens and drawn using graphite pencil.
Guy is a Painting Member & Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society, a Member of the Society of Botanical Artists and a tutor for their Distance Learning Diploma Course, and has also been awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal for work exhibited at the RHS London Botanical Art Show.
His drawings and drawing techniques appear in publications such as ‘The Illustrated College Herbal – Plants from the Pharmacopoea Londinensis of 1618’ and ‘Botanical Painting with the Society of Botanical Artists,’ and his artworks are included in the collection of The Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh.
A self-taught artist from Suffolk, this is a collection of some of the many drawings produced by Nathan Berry over the last four years from attending life drawing classes. Passionate about figure drawing, this exhibition showcases a variation of different approaches to drawing the human and animal figure, using different media and various styles. Some are formal studies, some of them tell a story, some are expressive, some abstract.
Nathan says of his work, “This is a constant on-going process for me in my development as an artist and draughtsman. I hope that you’ll enjoy what you see on display.”
