New York and Suffolk
August 4th – September 3rd, 2016
Arnold Dobbs is a London-born artist with over fifty years experience of working as a painter. He is based at APT Studios overlooking Deptford Creek, a tributary of The Thames, close to Greenwich. The studio complex is home to many internationally reknown artists.
“My work is essentially abstract featuring simple shapes and forms; strong colour; geometric structure and grids. The latest paintings are influenced by recent times spent in New York and others relate to many years spent visiting Suffolk where we have a small cottage. The works are painted without any preconceived notion of reality but just like music they don’t have to be understood to be enjoyed for their uplifting and uninhibited quality.” Arnold Dobbs, 2016
